The Village Centre is run by Crawshawbooth Community Association, based in the centre of Crawshawbooth Village. Our Community Centre is a not-for-profit organisation, run by a mix of volunteers and paid staff and registered as a charity (No. 1171649).
Our community building opened in 1989 in the former liberal club, following years of dedicated campaigning by the Community Association. The Village Centre was previously operated by Lancashire County Council as a youth and community centre. The County Council extended the building in 2010 to include a large room above the library.
In 2018, Lancashire County Council transferred responsibility for the building - including the library - to Crawshawbooth Community Association under a 125-year lease.
Our library was also handed over in 2018, since then we've proudly managed the library as a community facility, with volunteers acting as librarians and helping to keep this vital local service thriving.
